Guarantee and Contract

Buyer must have puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within one week of delivery.  Seller must be informed immediately of any health problems noted during the examination by email or by fax. The failure of this will result in the cancellation of this guarantee.

Provide puppy with routine preventive care, such as, but not limited to:  Follow veterinarian guidelines for vaccinations and de-worming.  If you choose to have your puppy given the Lepto vaccine then this health guarantee is void due to fatal side effects.

Failure to keep your new puppy on the same type of food could result in diarrhea, loss of appetite, hypoglycemic attacks (low blood sugar) or a combination of these symptoms.

Because of all genetic and environmental factors involved, we cannot guarantee that your puppy will be without hereditary defects. However, we have done our best to avoid passing on any undesirable traits by having both parents tested and are free, as far as it is possible to determine, undesirable genetic characteristics.

With this said, if a puppy should develop any hereditary characteristics that will affect the puppy’s life or physical abilities, we will replace the puppy as soon as possible. (Replacement puppy may not be available until our next planned litter). If a problem should arise, we require that you take your puppy to a board certified veterinarian for a diagnosis. If it is found that the puppy does indeed have a life altering genetic disorder a second opinion is required for the final diagnosis. The second opinion board certified vet must be chosen by the breeder or approved by the breeder PRIOR to taking the puppy to the vet.

1-Year Health Guarantee against Genetic Defects:

This puppy is guaranteed until 12 months of age against fatal congenital disease which adversely affects the health of the animal.  If the dog dies within this time frame, the Buyer will pay to have it autopsied by a licensed veterinarian to ascertain reason. If reason is congenital, the Seller will replace the puppy. All veterinarian findings must be submitted and signed by a licensed veterinarian and be sent on that veterinarian’s letterhead.  Puppies commonly have benign heart murmurs, which disappear by roughly six months of age. These puppy murmurs typically are not cause for concern and are not covered.   All items covered under this guarantee are by replacement only. We do not give refunds.   Seller will not be responsible for any medical expenses incurred. Buyer is aware that owning a puppy means trips to the veterinarian and understands that he/she will be responsible for all payments.

A DETAILED RECORD OF YOUR PUPPY’S HEALTH & VACCINATIONS IS INCLUDED IN YOUR PUPPY PACK. PLEASE TAKE THIS WITH YOU TO YOUR FIRST VISIT TO YOUR VET TO MAKE SURE YOUR VET DOES NOT DUPLICATE A VACCINATION!

No guarantee is given for any kind of worm, coccidia, or giardia. These parasites are all too common to pups and can be contracted from your soil or boarding facility. Your puppy has been wormed frequently from two weeks of age until your possession. It is your responsibility to continue to worm your puppy and check for parasites. Your puppy should be wormed every two weeks until it is placed on a monthly heartworm preventative.

A puppy with a defect must be returned to the Seller to qualify for a replacement puppy. NO REFUND, in part or in full, will be given. A returned puppy must be returned to the Seller in good condition, other than the specified problem, at the Buyer’s expense. The Buyer will then qualify for a replacement puppy. Buyer is responsible for transportation costs to and from the Seller on a replacement puppy. Seller will not pay or be responsible for any veterinarian bills. Moreover, if you decide to keep and treat a pup with a genetic defect or an ill puppy, Seller will void all aspects of this contract.

The guarantee applies to the original puppy Buyer only and is non-transferable to a second party.

Replacement puppy will be mutually agreed upon by both parties and will be of comparable quality. It is understood that the replacement puppy may not be from the exact same parents of the original puppy.  NO replacement puppy will be covered under this guarantee if the puppy has whelped one or more pups.

There are certain disorders that may be caused by environmental factors, for example: allergies, thyroid dysfunction, demodectic mange, and other autoimmune disorders that are not covered by this guarantee.

Physical problems that are or could be the result of injury, abuse, neglect, or if the Buyer fails to complete vaccinations and puppy checks by a qualified vet, are not covered under this guarantee.
